The University of Newcastle set up the Africa Excellence Scholarships to encourage and help international students in Australia reach their educational goals. The university is taking applications for the school year 2022-2023.
The Africa Excellence Scholarship was made to bring high-achieving international students to Newcastle University in 2022 and beyond. This is a merit-based award that recognises applicants with good academic records and encourages them to keep trying to be the best they can be.

The Africa Excellence Scholarships for International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students is a programme that gives money to international students who do well in school. It is only available for the following courses:

- Well-Being, Medication, and Health
- Human and Social Futures

Criteria for eligibility
To be considered for the Africa Excellence Scholarships for International Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students, all applicants must meet the following requirements:
- You must have a passport from one of the 54 countries in Africa.
- Start an appropriate bachelor’s or master’s degree course programme at the University (excluding ELICOS, Enabling, Non-Award, and Higher Degrees by Research programmes and programmes delivered at offshore campuses).
- Be an international student who pays the full fee.
- Your Letter of Offer says that you must start a qualified programme at an Australian campus or online.
- You can’t get a separate university scholarship unless you’ve already been given permission for a certain exception.
- Meet all of the financial needs of an international student as a full-fee paying student.

For students to apply for this grant, they must have been accepted to the college. When you apply to a college, you will be considered for scholarships automatically.
Academic Transcripts from All Previous Schools: Applicants must submit academic transcripts from all previous schools they have attended. Before you start the online application process, please have all of the required documents ready to upload as PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, or JPG files.
To be considered for admission, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma with good grades.
Language requirements: Students have to meet the university’s language requirements.
